There’s a zombie… oh and 3 creepers.. and a skeleton in the distance. The bright side is the skeleton hasn’t noticed me yet. This was quite a risky screenshot to take with so much death and destruction closing in on me. It’s kind of a “where’s your god, now?” moment.
With a little bit of spare time, my sister and I decided that for the next little project we should make a flag. Here are some screenshots of the results of the Dutch flag with the orange banner at the top of the pole.
In this multi-player world we’ve built this artificial fields and some awesome stairs that lead down to it. On the right you can see the reed farming operations and the automatic cactus farm behind it.
Giant mushrooms are a pretty cool addition to Minecraft. It’s an alternative to traditional farming and they really help to mark the landscape. Besides a rumored secret mushroom biome, they are not naturally occurring. To grow a giant mushroom of either type you just need to bonemeal a small one.

Previously unloaded chunks will end abruptly causing visual mind stabs like seen here in the screenshots.
Terrain generation in Minecraft version 1.8 gives us bigger biomes and more interesting landscapes than before. Here we can see a weird looking mountian in the center of the view.
The new mechanics for firing the bow and arrow have changed the way we use this weapon. Before version 1.8 we could use it like a rapid fire device while now it’s much more rewarding to get a couple of carefully aimed shots in. You see in this screenshot I’m targeted right at the zombie’s […]
This is very funny to see and it’s quite rare. Sometimes a skeleton will ride a spider. This phenomenon is known as a skeletal rider or spider jockey. So far I’ve only seen it happen twice and I’ve put in my share of days worth of Minecraft gameplay.
