This is the interior main hall of the Temple of the Sun. Seating has been put in, via the trusty method of steps with blank signs on the sides (in this case, since there’s only a single tile in between I couldn’t put armrests in the center). A red carpet connects the water basin at […]
This is a view of the town that I’m slowly but surely growing into a city shot from the top of my lighthouse. Building started on the left with the dock and shipyard. The newly completed Temple of the Sun graces the horizon as the sun rises in the background. The Joliecraft texture pack has […]
The Temple of the Sun stands gloriously on the hill. It’s the first mega-build or landmark structure in my town, built using a combination of iron blocks, gold blocks, stone and stone slabs (and glass for the windows).
From a low angle in the early morning light we can see the completed Temple of the Sun. Mostly because it’s built in a desert biome but maybe also because it’s the friggen Temple of the Sun, rain doesn’t fall on it!
The front and top of the Temple of the Sun are practically done at this point. This structure is the first landmark building in my growing town that will one day mature into a city. The second level is another large room which partially looks into the main hall through the rafters in the ceiling. […]
The front of the Temple of the Sun is slowly forming. Currently the second level only has one of the four walls built. Blue and white cloth decorates the top of the entrance, meant to look like banners. The part that remains in this structure is mostly hidden from sight when you are on ground […]
The Temple of the Sun is taking shape nicely. Aside from a wondering sheep you can notice the open sky near the top. At this point during the build I haven’t completely decided how I want the front of the building to look. The yellow cloth on the left serve as stairs so I can […]
Here are some nighttime exterior views of the Temple of the Sun. The bits I like to point out are the columns that extend out one block between the windows. This makes it look a lot more sturdy and solid for a large building. It also gives it a bit more depth instead of being […]
The main hall of the Temple of the Sun has just gotten it’s golden roof. I’ve also added the pillars on the inside and an alter at the very back. The roof made of gold blocks is actually how the Temple of the Sun got it’s name.
In these shots I’ve just added the rafters for my “Temple of the Sun” mega structure. They are constructed out of iron blocks and have torches placed on top. The roof will fit around one block higher so the torches still fit. I’ve also added windows made of glass.
