They are all coming for me!

Posted by Admin on 24 October, 2011

There’s a zombie… oh and 3 creepers.. and a skeleton in the distance. The bright side is the skeleton hasn’t noticed me yet. This was quite a risky screenshot to take with so much death and destruction closing in on me. It’s kind of a “where’s your god, now?” moment.

Creeper on the Roof!

Posted by Admin on 19 October, 2011

This creeper is not going to let Darryl get out there safely. While he distracts the creeper, a third member of our team is sneaking around the outside to surprise that creeper. Sadly this creeper is not the first one to bother us here and far from the last!

Drawing back the bow

Posted by Admin on 27 September, 2011

The new mechanics for firing the bow and arrow have changed the way we use this weapon. Before version 1.8 we could use it like a rapid fire device while now it’s much more rewarding to get a couple of carefully aimed shots in. You see in this screenshot I’m targeted right at the zombie’s […]

The Illusive Skeletal Rider

Posted by Admin on 13 September, 2011

This is very funny to see and it’s quite rare. Sometimes a skeleton will ride a spider. This phenomenon is known as a skeletal rider or spider jockey. So far I’ve only seen it happen twice and I’ve put in my share of days worth of Minecraft gameplay.

It’s one of these Enderman Fellows

Posted by Admin on 13 September, 2011

If you’re going about your world at night in the leaked prerelease of Minecraft version 1.8 you’ll certainly come across some Endermen. They’ll be moving blocks around, generally ruining the landscape. At night it is a little bit hard to spot them because they are all black, but if they do attack you it’s not […]

Enderman moving blocks, screwing up trees

Posted by Admin on 12 September, 2011

One of the new mobs you will encounter in the leak prerelease version of Minecraft 1.8 are the Endermen. They will move blocks around as seen in the screenshots above and ruin an otherwise perfectly fine landscape. They will only attack you if you move your cursor over them (look at them) and when they […]

3 different mobs caught in a trap

Posted by Admin on 25 August, 2011

This is one of the surface drowning traps I’ve built in my single player survival world. It looks like this morning I’ve caught a nice variation of bad guys! There is a creeper, a zombie and a skeleton in the trap and soon they’ll give up swimming and drown. The texture pack I’m using here […]

Two-stage surface mob trap

Posted by Admin on 24 August, 2011

Here is a drowning trap for mobs built on a mountain side. It’s a simple concept where a flow of water leads creepers, skeletons and zombies into a drowning trap which lets loot flow out of the bottom after they die. The difference is there are 2 of these traps in sequence for a large […]

Hey there, creeper buddy!

Posted by Admin on 18 August, 2011

This time it is I who was able to creep up on the creeper. In the default texture pack they aren’t very creepy at all- actually a little bit cute if they could turn that frown upside down. At this moment the only thing I could do is take out my bow and arrow to […]

Surface level creature drowning trap

Posted by Admin on 17 August, 2011

In my survival games I haven’t found any dungeons yet so I’ve decided to make myself a surface creature trap. The way it works is there’s a flow of water across the top of the hill leading into an enclosed waterfall with only a single block high gap at the bottom. Creatures fall in and […]
